My mission is to help you connect authentically and vulnerably with the people in your life. I am honored to have the opportunity to create a space for you to explore the hurts and fears that get in the way of having happy and connected relationships. I believe that our lives are better when we’re in loving relationships. And our society is better when we replace hate, fear, and prejudice with love, compassion, and connectedness. I take my mission very seriously and know that with your help we can create a more peaceful world through more peaceful and loving relationships.

My Journey
My passion for working with relationships began during my teenage years as I witnessed the painful dissolution of my parent’s marriage. During this time, I became deeply aware of how we are all so profoundly affected by our sense of connection (or lack of connection) to the people we love most. It was clear to me that happy people were in happy relationships and unhappy people were in unhappy relationships. My mission was clear – learn how to help people develop and maintain happy relationships with their partner, friends, family, and most importantly, with themselves.
Professionally, I find myself drawn to counseling theories that focus on creating safe and loving emotional relationships (e.g. Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion). I am most energized when helping couples discover the complex nature of their interactions and develop new ways of communicating that promote feelings of closeness, compassion, and happiness. I am also passionate about incorporating sexual health into my work with couples and individuals. Sex Therapy is a topic in which counselors receive very little training – which is a shame considering the huge impact sexuality has on our lives. In 2014, I decided to dive deep into the field of sexual health and am now a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Counselors, Educators, and Therapists.
My personal journey led to my relocating to Portland with my husband and three beagles. When not helping folks enhance their relationships and sexuality, you can find me hiking, reading, cooking, or binge watching Netflix.
